So, following the massive earthquake at the Kermadec Islands this morning, apparently we are safe from a tsunami for now, but Civil Defence are telling people to stay off the beaches and out of the water due to strong currents. Phew! Anyways, best to be prepared, I have been checking out the Bay of Plenty Tsunami Inundation Zones - pleasantly surprised to discover that Tauranga City Centre is relatively safe even if one were to creep up on us out of the blue!
