de s'habiller comme les Français

. . . or 'to dress like the french'

Everyone knows how stylish french women are. France in general is quietly glamorous . . .  you can't show up on holiday in Paris wearing any old thing!

Here are a few quick tips for injecting a little french style
and quiet glamour into your wardrobe:

Invest in good quality basics

My absolute favourite store for this is Kookai (which coincidentally originated in Paris!) Auckland based stores only unfortunately. Well worth the trip - you'll be wearing their basic tanks years later.  Take the time to sign up for updates or follow on Facebook for advance warning of their legendary sales!

If you can't make it to Aucks check out Trade Me for bargains like here here and here

Make the effort.
Whether you are off to the supermarket or out to dinner take a little time on your appearance. I know the days when I roll out of bed and stumble to work in the first thing I lay my hands on, I always wish I'd got up five minutes earlier and made a little more effort. Plan your outfit the night before if you have to!

Grooming.
Polished nails, well applied makeup and healthy, shiny, tidy hair.

Don't be afraid to be yourself.
Being stylish is not about being boring. To be chic is knowing what looks good on you, and then adding a bit of flair/ individuality to everything you wear. "The best colour in the whole world, is the one that looks good, on you!" - Coco Chanel

And last but not least, make like Coco herself and have at least
one killer LBD hiding away in your wardrobe!

xx
